The Village of Meneham
Meneham is located on the "Côte des Légendes" in Kerlouan, and its name means “the hamlet on the mountain” in Breton.
The village was once home to a milita which protected the site, followed by customs officers and lately by farmers and fishermen. The place was listed in 1975.
One of the most important buildings in Meneham is the watchtower. It is ensconsed between two boulders and almost invisible from the sea, which allowed for easy monitoring of English ships.
In the 80’s, the village was gradually abandoned, but the village started a new lease of life in the 21st century and is now fully resorted.
